Jinan Mayor Met with US Trade Mission

Mr. Bao Zhiqiang, Jinan Mayor met with the US trade mission led by Mr. William Spitler, Director of New York Center of US DOC at Jinan Shungen Hillview Hotel on June 29, when 2004 US-China Economic Cooperation Forum was inaugurated.


Mr. Bao remarked on the meeting that it is the common will of US and China to promote economic cooperation and bilateral trade. With excellent business environment, Jinan has established relationships with more than 100 countries or regions on economic exchange and trade. World-renowned brands such as Panasonic, Siemens, Volvo, and Coca-Cola have settled in Jinan. Its long trade relationship with the United States also has a solid basis, with great cooperation potentials in the industries of electric products, agricultural products and textiles. Jinan welcomes businesses from all over the world to join its rapid development. Mr. Bao also said that this forum was the best of its kind ever held in Jinan, bringing vast exchange and cooperation opportunities for both sides. Seeing the productive talks between US and Jinan companies, Mr. William Spitler extended his warm invitation to Jinan enterprises to look for business opportunities in the United States.


Co-organized by Jinan Municipal Government, USCEA, and US DOC, the forum with the largest scale and highest quality in Jinan history was attended by Mr. William Spitler, Director of New York Center of US DOC, Dr. George Wang, President of USCEA, 5 US mayors and more than 40 US company executives. The cooperation agreements, signed respectively between CCPIT Jinan Branch and USCEA, the People's Government of Licheng District and USCEA, and Shandong Sanjian Group and Daroff Design, Inc., brought the forum to a successful completion.
